Private 4wd tours Daintree

It’s one of the Great Australian Drives – the 4WD Bloomfield Track from Cape Tribulation to Wujal Wujal Falls, along the Bloomfield River and then up to Cooktown. A combination of Indigenous culture, ecology, history, secret places, local stories and, of course, wildlife with a local owner operator. And they are brilliant tours: mountain views, sparkling creeks, safe swimming spots, rampant vegetation, rainforest and reef, quiet beaches. It’s an unforgettable experience.

Mike (the DArcy of Daintree) and Trish D’Arcy, are sad.. and happy.. to announce that our tours will be no more after our last booked tour on 28 February 2021.

We’ll miss showing you around, and we’ll certainly miss this special place ourselves, but Covid and family suggest that its time to move south – but with frequent visits back here to enjoy the wonderful Daintree.

We encourage you to visit the independent website for excellent information on places to stay and visit, things to do, maps, distances and links to providers. Its the wonderful Daintree – where nature is the difference

This is literally where the rainforest meets the reef, and it’s only here, north of the Daintree River.

  • Just one of the best tours I’ve ever had – with Mike to Wujal Wujal Falls. Met Aunty Kath who took us to the falls – wonderful experience to hear from local indigenous people.

Mike is a walking, talking encyclopaedia of information on the region. Great story teller, warm, friendly, insightful, caters to your interests and just has that skill of being able to bring a group together. We laughed and learnt and enjoyed it from start to finish. Can’t recommend Mike’s tours enough.

  • Mike is the ultimate host. Comfortable and informative half day tour to Wujal Wujal. The falls and the small township were wonderful to see and to have Francis Walker as a local indigenous guide was a delight.

Worth every cent and thoroughly recommended.

  • One of the highlights of what was an amazing trip to an amazing part of the world. Mike was so knowledgeable and experienced in history, conservation, flora & fauna – and even politics! Thanks Mike for a wonderful experience – a definite must-do experience!!

  • Mike D’Arcy’s 4WD trip to Wajul Wajul Falls was memorable. The drive up and back was very comfortable, despite the rough track. Mike’s commentary was incredibly interesting and engaging, and he was able to relate to us all in our own way, from middle aged to the young child aboard

  • We had an excellent tour with Mike who was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We found out so much information regarding the area from Rainforests to all the creatures and history of the region and were fortunate enough to see 6 Crocodile’s including a 5 metre monster sunning on the bank (at a safe distance of course!).

This is a must do tour and you wont be disappointed, the fantastic scenic views are just another reason that made this a fun adventure.

  • Great tour!! We had a smile on our face the entire day, Mike was so knowledgeable and accommodating for everyone.

There was no question he didn’t have the answer to, was such a pleasant voice to listen to. He took us to so many places off the beaten track that you would never think to stop. Even spotted some Croc’s…Wujal, Wujal falls, the James Cook Museum and fish and chips in Cooktown. Everything was a highlight.

Would highly recommend this tour, the landcruiser was very comfy too. 5 Stars!

  • Mike D’Arcy is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate – what a wealth of knowledge of the flora, fauna, geography and history. A highly interesting adventure tour – my 11 year old loved every minute of it! Seeing Wujal Wujal is fantastic too. We saw 4 crocs! & lots more – a beautiful blue Daintree butterfly up close too.

  • Mike D’Arcy is a walking encyclopaedia on the Daintree. We did the morning tour of the Bloomfield track and a highlight for us was spending time in Wujul Wujul and speaking with an aboriginal lady Frances Walker and learning so much about their culture. The waterfall was stunning and we were lucky enough to see some crocodiles and of course the magnificent rainforest. This tour was definitely a highlight of our Cape Tribulation visit, if you can only do one tour THIS IS IT. Again thanks Mike we had an amazing time
